矽島是以廢棄電路板作為核心材料的飾品品牌。在快速汰換的科技時代，電路板往往被視為冰冷且短暫的功能性材料。矽島將這些隱藏於科技產品內部的材料帶回人的生活之中，也回應台灣作為全球重要科技製造基地的背景，我們希望這些被淘汰的材料能透過另一種形式回到身邊，使科技不再只是一種工具，而成為能被觸碰、被感知、並貼近身體的存在，讓人重新思考人與科技之間的距離，並創造材料新的價值。
飾品一共有兩個系列，「重生」系列將廢棄電路板想像為一種具生命性的系統，將原本的電路結構轉化成像血管一樣延伸的線條，使電路路徑如血管般延伸，並透過象徵著逆境的裂縫與金屬包覆，使其呈現重新生長的出生機的狀態。「共生」系列則是期許重生的電路板能與環境共存，以透明有機形象徵自然型態，結合成共生的樣態，期許在日常環境中達到平衡，延續材料的生命。
在矽島，科技不再只是被淘汰的材料，而是在重生與共生之間，重新被感知與存在。
SIDAO reclaims discarded circuit boards, transforming them from cold, functional waste into intimate jewelry. As Taiwan stands at the heart of global tech manufacturing, we bring these hidden internal components to the surface of daily life. By turning obsolete electronics into tactile objects, we redefine the distance between humans and technology—challenging the cycle of disposal and giving new, enduring value to what was once forgotten.
Our designs explore two distinct paths: Rebirth and Symbiosis. The Rebirth collection reimagines circuits as living systems, where pathways extend like veins through metallic layers and "cracks of adversity," symbolizing life that persists and grows. The Symbiosis collection pairs these materials with transparent, organic forms, seeking a harmonious balance between technology and the natural environment.
