Both bubble tea and rivers are made up of water. We are familiar with bubble tea, yet know little about the rivers behind it.
(f)lowtea uses Taiwan’s bubble tea culture to make river knowledge accessible. Ordering a drink becomes a way to understand rivers.
Nine rivers are transformed into “readable drinks.” Complex information, such as terrain, water systems, and agriculture, is simplified into clear content. The zines vary in size, with consistent layouts reflecting each river.
The interaction follows a familiar process: users select a drink, watch an animation, and receive a bubble tea–shaped zine. By opening it, they explore illustrated information about rivers. The lid includes color and transparent overlays for interaction.
In Taiwan, life depends on rivers, yet water is limited. This project turns river knowledge into a tangible experience, bringing it into everyday life.
