在災害類型日益多元且不可預測的當代環境中，「避難」不應僅存在於突發情境之中，而應成為日常生活的一部分。本設計以「避」為核心，重新思考人與空間之間的關係，探討在平常狀態下，如何透過空間與行為的累積，建立面對災害時的即時應對能力。
基地選址於桃米社區，一個曾經歷921震災記憶的場域。儘管災難的經驗深刻存在，但避難意識與實際行動之間，仍存在著落差與斷裂。本設計試圖回應此現象，將「日常」與「非日常」進行融合，讓空間在平時即具備潛在的避難機制，使居民在無需刻意學習的狀態下，自然累積避難能力。
結合「當地信仰」作為災時心理調適與精神韌性的核心支撐，藉由熟悉的宗教場域與空間儀式感，撫平災害當下的恐慌，強化社區在面對未知風險時的內在調適能力。
透過空間的彈性轉換、動線的隱性引導，以及具備多重功能的設計策略，打造一種可在平時使用、亦能於災時迅速切換的生活場域。讓避難不再是被動的逃離，而是一種預先存在於生活中的準備。
最終，本設計期望建立一種與災害共存的生活模式，使空間不僅回應風險，更在心理層面提供安全感與調適的可能，達到日常與非常之間的平衡。
Centered on the concept of "Shelter", this design redefines disaster preparedness as an integral part of everyday life rather than a reactive measure.
Located in the Taomi Community, a site marked by the 921 Earthquake, the project bridges the gap between historical trauma and current resilience. By integrating local spiritual beliefs as a pillar of psychological support, the design provides a stabilizing force to soothe panic and enhance the community’s inner adaptability during crises.
Through flexible spatial transitions and multi-functional strategies, the site serves as a vibrant community hub that can rapidly pivot into an emergency shelter.
Ultimately, this project establishes a model for coexisting with risk, balancing the "everyday" with the "extraordinary." It transcends physical protection to offer deep security and mental healing in an unpredictable world.
