The Milvus migrans , while a familiar silhouette in the skies of Taiwan, remains an "overlooked neighbor" in our urban-rural fringes. Despite their frequent presence, these majestic birds of prey face silent existential threats, including pesticide residues and rapid habitat loss. Most observers perceive them only as a fleeting glimpse of scenery, lacking a deeper understanding of their critical role in the ecosystem. "Kite-Born" (鳶生) is a design response to this disconnect. It seeks to bridge the gap between human daily life and ecological awareness by translating the biological essence of the Black Kite into a wearable design vernacular. This collection transforms the bird from a distant natural element into a symbolic icon of conservation, fostering a tangible emotional bond between the wearer and the environment.
