在雲林沿海的風土中，麥寮常被化工業的宏大敘事所覆蓋，然而隱藏在煙囪影跡之外的，是深厚的農漁根基與待發芽的在地生命力。「麥寮新客廳」的誕生，正是一場關於空間與情感的溫柔革命。我們試圖打破工業城鎮的刻板邊界，以「客廳」作為建築與心靈的銜接點，將原本疏離的破碎地塊，重新縫合為一座具備呼吸感的創意共生聚落。這裡不僅是物理上的建築集群，更是一個開放的社會實驗室，讓在地產物、返鄉青年與常民生活在此交織、對話並產生共鳴。
走進這個聚落，建築語彙與麥寮的自然環境緊密扣連。我們利用通透的空間設計導引海風，將光影納入室內，創造出一個既能承載高強度創意協作、又能安放靜謐生活節奏的場域。在共創實驗室裡，數位遊牧民族與在地職人並肩而坐，將產地的花生與小麥轉化為具備設計美學的品牌語彙；而在溫暖的風土食味空間，每一道料理都是產地到餐桌的直達車，透過味覺建立起城鄉之間最誠實的連結。這些空間並非孤立存在，而是透過穿透式的廊道與開放廣場，鼓勵居民在此駐足、交流，讓這裡真正成為社區的延伸。
Stepping into this community, the architectural language is inextricably linked to Mailiao's natural environment. We utilize transparent spatial design to guide the sea breeze and bring light and shadow indoors, creating a space that can both support intense creative collaboration and accommodate a tranquil pace of life. In the co-creation lab, several nomadic individuals and local artisans sit side-by-side, transforming peanuts and wheat from their terroir into brand vocabulary imbued with design aesthetics. Meanwhile, in the warm, authentic food space, each dish is a direct route from farm to table, establishing the most honest connection between urban and rural areas through taste. These spaces are not isolated; rather, through permeable corridors and open plazas, they encourage residents to linger and interact, truly making these spaces an extension of the community.
