"Walter" is an animated short about a frog and a dandelion; this piece scores the film's second half. The orchestral music begins with oboe and cello depicting the frog’s loneliness. As the dandelion blooms, woodwind scales create a magical atmosphere. Strings and double bass join to match the floating seeds, with low-register pizzicato conveying their elasticity.
To express the frog's initial repulsion, rapid woodwinds transition back to a solo oboe. When the frog opens the window, string staccato and a crescendic trill signal a dramatic explosion. Powerful brass then blow the frog into the sky. Following a quiet string note, woodwinds and harp guide the frog to flight. After landing, a quiet instrumental dialogue marks a mutual bow. Finally, ascending strings build emotion as the full orchestra performs a grand theme, leading the dandelions into the distance.
