This collection, titled re•moth(s), is inspired by a folk belief in which the spirits of departed loved ones return as moths on the seventh day to visit their families. The moth symbolizes memory, presence, and the invisible bond between the living and the dead, suggesting that death may not be an end, but a transformation into another form of existence.
The title re•moth(s) embodies the ideas of return and renewal: “re–” signifies return and rebirth, while “moth” represents a fragile creature navigating light and darkness, reflecting the cyclical connection between life, memory, and nature.
Through three symbolic stages—emergence from the cocoon, transformation into a moth, and dissipation—the collection conveys the ongoing cycle of life. Dissipation does not signify disappearance, but a return to nature, where life continues in renewed forms, carrying remembrance, love, and quiet presence..
