This project reuses vacant buildings in Jianye New Village, drawing inspiration from the traditional spatial pattern of courtyards and alleys that once connected daily life in the military dependents’ village.
By introducing a tea house, a village memory lounge, and a select shop with a craft workshop, the design creates spaces for social interaction, cultural experience, and memory preservation. The project encourages residents to continue everyday connections, allows visitors to understand the culture of the village, and supports local creative businesses.
Through cultural activation and spatial renewal, the site becomes a community place that sustains both cultural value and local vitality.
