Escaping the Storybook

(Slipped Out of the Story)」為核心概念,試圖打破書本與現實之間的界線,將原本侷限於紙本中的故事轉化為可被感知與參與的空間體驗。

Escaping the Storybook

project is located at Pingshi Military Camp, a former military site now transforming into an open public space. With new families moving in, there is a growing need for child-friendly areas, yet existing spaces mainly serve adults, and reading and play remain separate.

The concept, “Escaping the Storybook,” blurs the boundary between books and reality. Stories once confined to pages become interactive experiences. Children engage through movement, play, and manipulation of building blocks and geometric shapes, creating layered spaces that encourage exploration, creativity, interaction.

Interactive zones and workshops let children be active participants, making learning a natural part of play. Multi-sensory experiences foster imagination, curiosity, and social engagement. The design transforms the former military site into a child-centered environment where learning, play, and storytelling coexist, allowing children to explore, collaborate, and discover in meaningful and joyful ways.
