Inter-Shadow explores how distance and connection between people shape emotional relationships in contemporary urban life. Originating from a personal moment of observation, the project questions how interpersonal distance is sensed rather than measured.
Using thermal imaging and infrared recording, perceived proximity and human movement are translated into stretched silhouettes and transformed patterns. Both silhouette and pattern respond to crowd movement and density. The collection is constructed with space cotton, an air-layer textile whose hollow structure symbolizes the flexible and shifting nature of human relationships.
By visualizing invisible interpersonal tension through form and volume, Inter-Shadow positions fashion as a medium for social observation and encourages renewed awareness of authentic human connection.
