Rhythm in Motion” is based on the Phonotrope animation technique, deconstructing fish locomotion into sequential frames. Through the rotation of a disc combined with smartphone shutter settings, static images are perceived as continuous motion. Viewers actively adjust their viewing conditions, shifting from passive observation to participation in the formation of moving images.
The project focuses on fish species with distinctive appearances and movement patterns, translating biological motion into clear visual forms. It highlights differences in morphology and movement while reinterpreting analog animation through a rotating disc.
A handbook and informational cards extend the experience by organizing key characteristics and basic ecological knowledge. The project establishes a visual communication system that integrates observation, participation, and learning.
