Collection Edition

紙本書的溫度與價值,在這個越發便利與追求快速的年代,呈現強大的對比,是科技無法量化與模擬的。裝典以紙本書為媒介,搭配不同紙張與材質的運用,成為收藏與情感連結的載體。作品選擇三本經典華語文學,作為時代與社會現實的縮影,以實驗性的設計手法重新詮釋文本,在翻書的過程中,使故事中的情感逐漸堆疊、留存。

根據各書的劇情特質與所欲傳達的寓意,融入符合其特色的裝幀、材質與紙材變化:魯冰花多以純白的材料製作,象徵孩童純淨的世界,紗布與繃帶如同古阿明成為他人的肥分,頁面邊緣的洞暗示茶蟲恣意啃食古家的淒涼;以金屬為主要媒材的阿Q正傳,比喻當時社會規範的禁錮、金屬的反射特性,暗示每個人都有著自己堅守的精神勝利法;離鄉背井的台北人,拖著一身歲月的刮痕走在沒有盡頭的紙張上,一針一線中充滿著命運的無可奈何。

Collection Edition

In an era increasingly driven by speed and convenience, the warmth and value of a paper book stand as a profound contrast that technology can neither quantify nor mirror. Using the paper book as a medium, “Collection Edition” blends various papers and textures with experimental design to recreate what it feels like to read.The project chooses three classic Chinese books that reflect their times and society. The emotions in the stories build up and stay with the reader as they turn the pages.

By blending bookbinding craftsmanship with the core themes of each story, we give physical form to literary soul. We applied bandages to the heartbreaking The Lupine, as if trying to mend a tragedy. In The True Story of Ah Q, iron plates are used to restrict the reader, much like the character’s own mental delusions. Finally, for Taipei People, the paper becomes a path without end, where the weight of time and exile leaves its visible scars.
