Located in the Guanmiao District, Tainan City, the "Baodong Police Station" is a county-designated monument, with the imitation Western-style buildings built during the Japanese occupation, many police stations were built during the Japanese occupation, witnessing the history of the colonial government's implementation of the modern police system in Taiwan. However, for many years, the police station and the surrounding idle green space and the care center next to the temple have been undermanaged, and the spatial function of the park will be strengthened through design.
The core of the concept is to preserve the accumulation of culture and experience, increase people's sense of identity with the place through the revitalization of monuments and idle spaces, in addition to providing rest and interaction spaces so that activists can relax and feel at ease, as well as renovating spaces to promote local food culture or co-dining spaces to promote tourism development, and strengthen the community environment by sharing green spaces, with more mechanisms for maintaining resources and reuse, combined with cultural history and geographical location, so that the park can become an important place of memory for the Iron Horse and the community again.
