隨著全球環保意識的提升，「回收」已成為社會普遍關注的議題，但我們發現，即便大眾願意投入回收行動，錯誤的分類方式仍導致大量可再利用資源遭受浪費。事實上，全球僅 13% 的垃圾被有效回收，而分類錯誤更使 30% 的可回收資源無法再利用。若能正確清洗並精準分類，循環利用率可提升至 90%。這組數據促使我們思考：如何讓人們真正理解「回收」的價值，而不僅是機械式地投入垃圾桶？
我們透過「低垃量」這個餐飲品牌作為傳達理念的媒介，並使用乾淨的回收物作為食材，透過精心洗淨、精準分類、壓縮及堆疊三個步驟，打造給「地球」的低垃量餐點。我們想透過這個方式，讓大家看見回收小細節與地球健康之間的關係。
品牌名「低垃量」為「低熱量」的諧音，讓人聯想到健康飲食的概念，就像人們選擇單純的飲食習慣一樣，地球也需要更「易消化」的資源循環方式。視覺與展覽呈現上，我們以「餐飲品牌」作為設計語言，透過菜單、餐盒、成分標示等熟悉的飲食元素，引導觀眾以有趣的視角思考環保議題。
我們相信，環保的核心並非強制性的規範，而是透過更易於理解的方式，讓人們願意主動參與。因此，我們透過設計傳遞「回收不只是丟進分類桶，而是對地球的細緻照顧」，期待以創新的敘事手法，讓回收成為一種直覺且有溫度的行為，進而真正落實環境永續。
As global environmental awareness grows, recycling has become a widely discussed issue. However, we’ve noticed that even when people actively participate in recycling, improper sorting still leads to the waste of large amounts of reusable resources. In fact, only 13% of the world’s waste is effectively recycled, while 30% of recyclable materials are lost due to incorrect sorting. If waste is properly cleaned and sorted, the recycling rate could increase to 90%. This data led us to a key question: How can we help people truly understand the value of recycling, rather than treating it as a mechanical habit?
To address this, we created Low-Waste Cuisine, a conceptual restaurant brand that uses clean recyclables as ingredients to prepare low-waste meals for the Earth. Through three key steps—thorough cleaning, precise sorting, and compression & stacking—we highlight the connection between the small details of recycling and the planet’s overall health.
The name “Low-Waste Cuisine” is a play on “low-calorie”, evoking the idea of healthy eating. Just as people choose simple, wholesome foods for their bodies, the Earth also needs a more digestible resource cycle. In our visual design and exhibition, we present recycling through the familiar language of a restaurant—using menus, meal boxes, and ingredient labels to encourage audiences to view environmental issues from a fresh and engaging perspective.
We believe that sustainability should not rely on rigid regulations but on intuitive, accessible concepts that inspire active participation. Through design, we convey the message that recycling is more than just tossing waste into the right bin—it’s a thoughtful act of care for the planet. By reimagining recycling through storytelling, we hope to transform it into an instinctive and meaningful habit, ultimately contributing to a truly sustainable future.
