The concept of the Talking About Scoliosis exhibition originates from the author's personal experience as a scoliosis patient. Having lived with the condition, the author deeply understands the limited awareness of scoliosis in many parts of Asia. Due to the lack of proper knowledge, many patients fail to detect their condition early and, in some cases, are misled by false information and ineffective remedies. As a result, they miss the golden period for treatment, which can have lifelong consequences. The author was one such case, initially delaying treatment due to a lack of information, only later discovering the correct medical options and treatment methods. This exhibition aims to raise public awareness of scoliosis and provide visitors with accurate knowledge and medical resources.
The exhibition captures the audience’s attention through interactive displays, using three-dimensional exhibits to help visitors visualize scoliosis more clearly and break common misconceptions. It also serves as a reminder to pay closer attention to adolescents, who are most at risk of developing scoliosis, to ensure potential health issues are not overlooked. Beyond education, the exhibition seeks to create a sense of belonging for patients, helping to reduce anxiety and feelings of isolation while encouraging more people to face treatment with confidence. Ultimately, the goal is to enhance public awareness of scoliosis, enabling early detection and timely intervention during the crucial treatment window, helping individuals protect their long-term health.
