東港市場曾是繁榮的漁業與商業交匯點，但近年來人潮逐漸減少，市場活力衰退。我們透過實地調查，分析當地商業佈局與漁業文化，發現市場面臨「人流斷層」與「傳統文化流失」的雙重挑戰。夜間漁業文化雖為東港的重要特色，卻未能有效融入日常生活，使夜間場域在白天成為人流阻隔，進一步加劇市場活力的下降。
本設計試圖打破日夜區隔，重新串聯市場人流。我們透過日間活動的引導，讓白天的人潮逐步滲透夜間場域，使市場不再只是漁業交易的場所，而是融合夜間商業與文化體驗的空間。人們在日常生活中自然地參與夜間漁業活動，促進市場活力的重建。
設計不僅回應當地產業模式，也創造了一個兼具商業機能與文化互動的場域，使東港市場在延續傳統的同時，能夠適應當代都市生活的節奏，形成更具流動性與延續性的空間體驗。
### **Project Introduction**
Donggang Market was once a thriving hub of fisheries and commerce, but in recent years, it has experienced a decline in foot traffic and overall vitality. Through on-site research and analysis of the local commercial layout and fishing culture, we identified two key challenges: the disruption of pedestrian flow and the fading of traditional culture. While night-time fisheries play a crucial role in Donggang’s identity, they have not been effectively integrated into daily activities. As a result, the spaces used for night-time fisheries become barriers to pedestrian movement during the day, further exacerbating the market’s decline.
Our design aims to bridge the gap between day and night, reestablishing a continuous flow of people within the market. By introducing daytime activities that gradually lead visitors into night-time spaces, we transform the market into more than just a place for fish trading—it becomes a dynamic space that blends commerce with cultural experiences. This approach encourages people to engage naturally with night-time fisheries, fostering a more vibrant and interactive market environment.
Beyond addressing local economic patterns, our design creates a space that integrates commercial functionality with cultural engagement. By preserving tradition while adapting to modern urban lifestyles, we establish a fluid and sustainable market experience that revitalizes Donggang’s unique identity.
