氛圍與場景

這首作品營造出一種黑暗詭異、幽暗清冷的氛圍。靈感來自深夜裡廢棄回收場的場景:鏽蝕的金屬殘骸散落四處,空氣中瀰漫著寂靜與寒意。微弱的月光投下斑駁陰影,映照出廢墟般景象,讓人感到不安卻又深深著迷。音樂試圖將這種孤寂荒涼的意境轉化為聲音,使聽眾彷彿置身於一座被遺忘的垃圾場,傾聽其中迴盪的幽幽回聲。

音樂技法與元素

為了呈現上述氛圍,作品在創作上運用了多種音樂元素和技術手法:
• 鋼琴音色為基底:全曲以鋼琴為主要樂器,鋼琴清冷的音色勾勒出荒涼的輪廓。低音域的沉重音響如同廢鐵碰撞,高音域的清脆音符則彷彿月光下碎玻璃的閃爍。鋼琴寂寥而純粹的聲響,為整個音景打下了幽暗的基調。
• Echo 回聲效果:在鋼琴聲中加入了明顯的回聲效果。每一個音符彈出後彷彿在空蕩的場地中反射、來回迴盪,逐漸消逝於黑暗中。這種 Echo 效果拉長了音符的尾韻,營造出空曠遼遠的空間感,同時讓聲音層層疊疊,產生幽靈般的殘響,仿佛有看不見的身影在廢墟中低語。
• 全音音階作為核心:作品的音調選用了全音音階作為創作核心。全音音階由純全音組成,缺乏半音階的細微起伏,因此沒有明確的主音或傳統和聲重心。這種音階帶來一種漂浮不定、超脫現實的聲響特質,讓音樂聽起來如夢似幻又隱含不安。在旋律和和聲運用上,全音音階營造出模糊的色彩感,強化了廢棄場景中的詭譎氛圍。

創作理念

Resonance of Ruin 的創作理念在於結合上述元素,將廢墟場景的視覺意象轉化為聲音敘事。透過鋼琴音色的冷峻、Echo效果的幽幽殘響,以及全音音階的不穩定和聲,音樂刻畫出一幅陰森而迷離的聲音畫面。彷彿我們在漆黑的廢棄回收場中漫步,每一步都驚動了沉睡的往事,讓塵封已久的回聲在耳畔響起。這首作品希望讓聽者感受到時間凝結於廢墟之中,那種孤獨寂寥卻又引人深思的氛圍,正如其名「廢墟的共鳴」,是對逝去事物的低語和共鳴。

Atmosphere & Setting

This composition evokes a dark, eerie, and coldly desolate atmosphere. It draws inspiration from the haunting imagery of an abandoned scrapyard at midnight—rusted metal debris scattered across the landscape, silence and chill permeating the air. Dim moonlight casts fragmented shadows, illuminating the ruins in a way that is both unsettling and mesmerizing. The music seeks to transform this sense of solitude and desolation into sound, immersing the listener in a forgotten junkyard, where ghostly echoes linger in the void.

Musical Techniques & Elements

To convey this atmosphere, the piece incorporates a variety of musical elements and techniques:
• Piano as the Foundation: The entire composition is built around the piano, whose stark and frigid timbre sketches the desolate landscape. Low-register notes resonate with a heavy, metallic weight, reminiscent of rusted iron clashing in the scrapyard, while the high-register notes shimmer like shattered glass under the moonlight. The piano’s isolated and unembellished tone establishes the piece’s haunting, shadowy foundation.
• Echo Effects: A distinct echo effect is applied to the piano, making each note linger and reverberate through an empty, cavernous space before gradually dissolving into the darkness. This prolonged decay creates a sense of vast, boundless emptiness, layering the soundscape with spectral overtones—almost as if unseen figures are whispering amidst the ruins.
• Whole-Tone Scale as the Core: The composition is structured around the whole-tone scale, which consists solely of whole steps, lacking the half-step tension that defines conventional tonal centers. As a result, the music floats in an ambiguous, weightless space, detached from traditional harmonic grounding. This tonality produces an otherworldly, dreamlike quality, yet subtly instills an undercurrent of unease. By employing the whole-tone scale in both melody and harmony, the piece deepens its surreal and disorienting character, reinforcing the uncanny stillness of the abandoned scrapyard.

Concept & Vision

Resonance of Ruin is designed to translate the stark imagery of a forsaken landscape into an immersive sonic narrative. Through the cold austerity of the piano, the ghostly echoes, and the unsettled harmonic space of the whole-tone scale, the music paints a hauntingly surreal aural tableau. It’s as if we are wandering through the darkness of a deserted scrapyard, each step stirring long-forgot..
