As the global population ages, more older adults are choosing to live independently in the familiarity of their own homes. However, transferring from bed to wheelchair remains one of the most high-risk daily activities, often requiring assistance and posing a significant risk of falls. This task is physically demanding for caregivers and particularly challenging for elderly individuals living alone.
In addition to physical decline, long-term dependence on others can lead to psychological stress, reduced self-esteem, and a diminished sense of autonomy, ultimately affecting overall quality of life.
This design is built upon the core values of **independence and safety**. Through a simple and intuitive mechanical system, it enables elderly users to safely transfer between the bed and wheelchair without external assistance. By reducing both fall risk and psychological burden, the design supports independent living while preserving dignity, addressing the real needs of an aging society.
