昔隙

林商號不僅是高雄繁榮歲月的見證者，更是這座港都記憶中一塊厚實的年輪。在本次的活化計畫中，我們不只是修繕一座舊建築，而是試圖在歷史的骨架上，編織出屬於當代的文化對話，讓這座遺構轉化為流動且充滿生命力的城市交流場所。
設計的核心策略在於「低度干預與高度對話」。 我們完整保留了現有的建築結構，將其視為承載時間的容器，並在既有的框架中精準地「置入」新空間。透過對部分區域的考證復原，新舊界面在空間中交疊錯置，產生一種時光倒流與前進並行的張力。這種手法不刻意抹去歲月痕跡，而是讓歷史的刻痕成為空間中最動人的裝飾。
為了呼應林商號深厚的林業背景，內部設計大量運用溫潤的木質元素，將昔日的產業記憶轉化為現代的感官溫度。室內巧妙利用地坪的高低落差，模擬水流律動的視覺感與動線導引，彷彿昔日木材順流而下的歷史意象在空間中重生。
這裡將不再只是靜止的古蹟，而是一個融合木材香氣、流動層次與人文溫度的場域。透過對歷史遺構的再定義，林商號將以全新的姿態融入當代日常，在港都繼續敘述著那段未完的故事。

Fragments of Time within the Gaps of History

Lin Shang Hao is a resonant “growth ring” in Kaohsiung’s memory. This project transcends restoration, weaving a contemporary dialogue into the building’s historical skeleton to create a vibrant venue for cultural exchange.

Guided by the philosophy of “Low Intervention, High Dialogue,” we treat the structure as a container of time. New spaces are delicately “nested” within the original framework, creating a poetic tension where past and present coexist. Rather than erasing the scars of history, we celebrate them as the soul of the design.

Honoring its forestry heritage, the interior utilizes warm timber and undulating floor levels to mimic the rhythm of flowing water—a nod to the days of drifting timber. No longer a frozen monument, Lin Shang Hao is redefined as a fusion of memory, scent, and human connection, continuing its narrative in the heart of the port city.
