Temple Collections

Temple Collections

The collection of objects forms a repository that makes a cultural and social statement.

When visiting a temple, one may seldom notice the various animal forms hidden in the architectural elements, such as the roof, beams, doors or walls. These animal decorations are not only temple artifacts, but also important symbols of Taiwan's folk culture. They embody the wishes of the society for blessing and protection, and carry deep cultural connotations and historical memories.

Using the animal motifs on temple buildings as the central theme of the rubber stamp design, we have extracted elements that are suitable for the present to create a stamp that has both rich cultural heritage and contemporary visual appeal. This allows the public to embark on a rubber stamp collecting journey to explore the craftsmanship of temples. Each rubber stamp is a cultural imprint. Scanning the attached link will take you to a dedicated website that connects online and offline temple craft experiences, allowing the public to explore the cultural heritage in greater depth.

Stamp collecting activities centered on temple architectural elements and animal decorations provide new opportunities to explore the aesthetic and collectible value of cultural assets. Folk aesthetics encompasses art and everyday life. It is through the discussion and definition of aesthetic values that Taiwan's folk traditions can be renewed and evolve to reflect the vitality of society.
