湮沒瞬間--歷史的刻痕仍存於消逝的型態中，面對時代更迭，曾經的繁華如未熄的灰燼。若不再現，歷史將僅存於[文字]與[影像]。然而，再現不應只是仿舊，而是融合新舊，以顯性新式樣與隱性舊元素交織，讓時間在推移間悄然綻放。我們運用「曖昧、纏繞、迴流」的設計手法，並以嘉義人的生活縮影作為主軸，結合嘉義木業歷史，使空間成為歷史與現代的對話場域。
「曖昧」營造時間與記憶的模糊界線，讓舊元素若隱若現於新結構中，以材質、光影、肌理的層疊引發感知與想像。「纏繞」象徵歷史與當代的交織，透過曲折動線與連續立面變化，使空間流動，讓人步行間感受不同時間維度的交融。「迴流」則借鑑嘉義的水文與風土，使設計元素呈現環繞回旋的動態，象徵歷史不斷循環，而非靜態封存。
空間建構以嘉義木業為靈感，運用木質元素塑造層次感，透過不同尺度的板牆體，結合傳統工藝與當代材料，營造熟悉又新穎的視覺體驗。立面運用格柵、穿孔板與半透明材質，形成「透而不明」的效果，讓界線流動，呼應記憶與現實的曖昧關係。此外，嘉義的都市紋理與人文風貌亦被轉化為場域體驗，例如錯落牆體與層疊天花，營造巷弄般的空間感，使人行走間感受城市肌理的重現。我們期望這座空間能承載記憶，使歷史不僅存於文字與影像，而能在當代語境中悄然綻放。

Submerged Moment
The traces of history still exist in the disappearing forms. Facing the change of times, the former prosperity is like unextinguished ashes. If it no longer appears, history will only exist in [text] and [image]. However, reproduction should not be just imitation of the old, but a fusion of the new and the old, interweaving the explicit new style with the implicit old elements, so that time can quietly bloom in the passage of time. We use the design techniques of "ambiguity, entanglement, and recirculation", and take the microcosm of Chiayi people's life as the main axis, combined with the history of Chiayi's wood industry, to make the space a dialogue field between history and modernity.
"Ambiguity" creates a blurred boundary between time and memory, allowing the old elements to appear and disappear in the new structure, and the overlapping of materials, light and shadow, and texture triggers perception and imagination. "Entanglement" symbolizes the interweaving of history and the contemporary. Through the twists and turns of the traffic lines and the continuous changes of the facade, the space flows, allowing people to feel the fusion of different time dimensions while walking. "Circulation" draws on the hydrology and local conditions of Chiayi, making the design elements present a dynamic circling movement, symbolizing the continuous circulation of history rather than static storage.
The spatial construction is inspired by Chiayi's wood industry, using wooden elements to create a sense of hierarchy. Through panels and walls of different scales, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary materials, a familiar and novel visual experience is created. The facade uses grids, perforated panels and translucent materials to create a "transparent but unclear" effect, allowing the boundaries to flow, echoing the ambiguous relationship between memory and reality. In addition, Chiayi's urban texture and cultural features are also transformed into a site experience, such as staggered walls and stacked ceilings, creating a sense of space like an alley, allowing people to feel the reproduction of the urban texture while walking. We hope that this space can carry memories, so that history will not only exist in text and images, but can quietly bloom in the contemporary context.
