The Intersection of Human and Nature – Husheng Recreational Park

The Intersection of Human and Nature – Husheng Recreational Park

The concept is to gradually transition from human-made architecture into a natural ecological environment. The design employs densely arranged yet deliberately controlled spaces, gradually leading into vast, uncontrollable nature.

Here, I conducted an experiment using triangular lines to explore movement within a natural environment that varies in elevation and transitions between dense and open spaces. I arranged multiple nature-inspired pathways to reflect how humans and animals navigate landscapes differently. In the mountains, humans typically follow fixed paths, whereas animals move freely without a set route. However, humans tend to adhere to planned pathways.

I utilized elevation changes to differentiate spaces: when people enter my designed space, they walk on elevated pathways. To enter a specific area, they descend into the space, and when moving to the next area, they return to the elevated path before continuing forward.

The form is based on triangles, echoing the triangular pathways on the ground. Additionally, I applied a 200×200 grid system to introduce a level of control. As the design extends into nature, it gradually becomes less controllable, yet still maintains an element of structure. Both the spaces and the ground are composed of irregular, uneven formations.
