“This is not chaos — it’s simply how we live.”
Taiwan exists in the overlap of disorder and order, tradition and modernity. What appears chaotic — dense streets, layered signage, informal structures — reflects a unique cultural rhythm, yet is often difficult to articulate or understand across cultures.
This project translates streetscape elements — from bubble tea and night markets to temples and signage — into a character-based visual system. Through the reconfiguration of form and color, fragmented scenes are transformed into readable visuals, reinterpreting what it means to be Taiwanese.
Extending across objects, motion, and digital platforms, the characters become cultural symbols that can be carried and recognized — turning everyday culture into an identity.
