#(Wait)ⁿ Lab
Spanning both real and digital context, “How does it feel to wait for an entire day?” That is the question #(Wait)ⁿ Lab aims to answer. First by using and dividing the everday experiences into five segments: food, clothing, transportation, education, and entertainment, then using delayed interaction to recontextualise waiting in today’s accelerated society.
The work consists of two interactive installations: a mobile moniter that collects and visualizes subconscious mannerism from waiting participants, and a curated simulation of four daily scenarios which utilizes biometric data to transform underlying restlessness into perceptible experiences.
In a highly digitalized world that prioritizes instantaneity, waiting is obsolete in theory, yet it looms over regardless. This work reframes these overlooked moments, positioning viewers as both participants and observers, and provoking a renewed understanding of waiting.
