本產品針對台灣濕熱氣候下,寵物犬在戶外穿戴傳統尼龍與聚酯纖維背心所引發的皮膚過敏及異味問題進行探討。屏東作為全台鳳梨主要產區,每年會留下大量廢鳳梨葉,造成環境負擔。我們以工業設計為手段,將地方農業廢棄物轉化為天然纖維布料,建立永續發展與動物福利。
透過取纖與針刺加工,我們將鳳梨葉纖維轉化為具備「韌性、透氣與天然抑菌」的複合布材。不同於傳統織物,本研究經實驗驗證,鳳梨葉纖維不織布抗拉強度約18kg,優於市售不織布與合成纖維,確保了產品的耐用性。
本產品採用犬體工學設計,避開氣管與肩胛活動區,確保寵物犬的靈活度,並將胸背帶與背心整合減少穿戴步驟。布料採用鳳梨葉纖維與棉花混紡布料,具備優異吸味與抑菌功能,將材料壽命與環境碳排放進行量化,達成產品生命週期的循環,外型設計上採用鳳梨外觀意象與葉片造型並加上鳳梨造型收納包可將背心收於包內,結合扣件可扣於背包上成為背包上裝飾的一部分。
本產品展現了企業在 ESG 願景下的實踐價值。相較於棉花,鳳梨葉纖維可節省7成用水並減少4成碳排。透過將農廢廢料轉化為天然纖維布料,不僅提升了寵物犬的外出舒適度,更為台灣在地農業與寵物用品市場,提供了一個可量產的永續循環鏈。
Developed for Taiwan humid climate,this product replaces traditional synthetic pet vests with sustainable pineapple leaf fiber to solve skin allergies and odor issues.As Pingtung is a major pineapple hub,we repurpose agricultural waste into high-performance natural fabrics, advancing both animal welfare and ESG goals.
Through fiber extraction and needle punching,we created a composite fabric that is breathable and naturally antibacterial. Tests confirm a tensile strength of 18kg, surpassing standard non-woven and synthetic fibers to ensure long-term durability.
The design follows canine engineering,avoiding the trachea and scapula to maintain full mobility while integrating the harness and vest for ease of use.The PALF-cotton blend offers superior odor absorption and a lower carbon footprint.Compared to cotton, PALF production saves 70% water and reduces carbon emissions by 40%.This innovation provides a scalable,circular solution for Taiwan local agriculture and pet markets.
