Social Beehive is a pilot animation that adopts a whimsical, American-inspired fantasy style to explore the diverse social issues faced by Generation Z in the post-pandemic era.
The story takes place in a galaxy where everything is possible and seemingly reasonable. At its center is a spaceship called the Beehive, inhabited by seven distinct dwarf-like characters, each representing different psychological states and social phenomena among today’s youth. Through their unique abilities and interactions, the narrative addresses themes such as entertainment culture, misinformation, social media comparison, “lying flat” culture, personality classification, and self-identity.
By transforming abstract social issues into vivid characters and engaging storylines, the animation creates an accessible and immersive viewing experience. Through a lighthearted yet thought-provoking approach, Social Beehive invites audiences to reflect on their own identities and the realities of contemporary society.
