本作品集為兩首以森林遊戲關卡場景為前提所創作的遊戲配樂,遊戲本身遊玩方式參照節奏海拉魯聽音樂、對節拍的方式進行移動及攻擊等操作,於平面地圖上探險的RPG獨立遊戲。兩首配樂以相似的旋律製作成和平版與戰鬥版本,讓遊玩體驗增添幾分張力。
兩首曲風有個自的特色,但兩首都使用了晶片音樂(chiptune)中,與8-bit合成音色相似的樂器演奏,和平版本帶有冒險或是脫離戰鬥險境的氛圍,而戰鬥版加入電貝斯、電吉他等搖滾樂團樂器,流行搖滾的驅動感與遊戲遊玩機制,讓節拍更鮮明,更深入其境
創作靈感主要源自兩部具代表性的遊戲作品的配樂——任天堂《超級瑪利歐兄弟》的主題曲,以及《節奏海拉魯》的配樂。前者的主題曲是家喻戶曉的音樂,當時使用的晶片音樂類型對於遊戲遊玩風格相配,使其增添些復古遊戲機的畫面;後者則是製作時主要參考來源,運用相似的旋律打造不同類型的風格,我認為此規劃,能在音樂情緒相異的狀況下又不失主體性。
這兩首作品期望能讓玩家在遊玩過程中,透過音樂的情緒轉換自然感受到場景的張力變化——使音樂不只是背景,而是冒險遊戲本身不可分割的一部分。
This collection consists of two original compositions created as game music for an indie RPG game. The gameplay is inspired by Cadence of Hyrule, in which players listen to the music and perform actions such as movement and combat in sync with the beat, while exploring a 2D overworld map. The two tracks are crafted from a similar melodic theme, arranged into a peaceful version and a battle version, adding an extra layer of tension to the overall gameplay experience.
Each of the two tracks carries its own distinct character, both featuring instruments reminiscent of 8-bit synthesized timbres. The peaceful version draws on sounds similar to 8-bit synthesis, evoking a sense of adventure; while the battle version introduces electric bass and electric guitar, bringing a pop-rock drive that makes the overall beat more pronounced and the experience more immersive.
