「樟萃本源」是一項結合材料研究與永續設計思維的產品系統設計。計畫以臺灣本土樟科植物資源為核心材料來源,選用本樟與芳樟精油作為主要活性成分,開發天然來源的抑草產品,並探索其在永續農業中的應用可能。
在農業生產中,雜草會與作物競爭水分、養分與光照,影響作物產量與品質。傳統農業多依賴化學除草劑進行防治,但長期使用可能造成環境污染、農藥殘留與雜草抗藥性等問題。因此,本研究以天然植物精油為基礎,透過種子萌發試驗、澱粉酶活性分析與盆栽試驗,評估不同化學型樟樹精油對雜草生長的抑制效果,並作為產品開發與設計應用的科學基礎。
在產品設計層面,本計畫導入循環設計概念,將樟樹精油萃取後剩餘的枝葉纖維進行再解纖與抄紙處理,轉化為產品包裝材料,降低資源浪費並延伸材料生命週期。透過材料研究、產品設計與資源循環的整合,本研究建立一套結合天然抑草技術與永續包裝概念的綠色產品系統,展現植物資源在農業與設計領域中的創新應用。
Root of Nature is a sustainable product system integrating material research with industrial design. It utilizes essential oils from Cinnamomum camphora, particularly camphor-type and linalool-type chemotypes, to develop a natural weed-suppression solution.
Weeds compete with crops for resources, while synthetic herbicides may cause environmental pollution and resistance. This project explores plant-based essential oils as a safer alternative. Experiments, including germination assays, α-amylase analysis, and pot tests, were conducted to evaluate inhibitory effects on seed germination and early growth, providing a scientific basis for application.
By integrating bioactive materials, ecological weed control, and sustainable packaging, the project presents a green product system that bridges science and design, transforming local plant resources into environmentally responsible solutions.
