續 鹽場

基地座落於承載高雄深厚歷史底蘊的鹽埕區。這裡曾是早期的瀨南鹽場，隨著都市發展，逐漸演變為匯聚常民記憶的「鹽埕第一公有零售市場」。面對空間機能老化，老市場正面臨被都市遺忘的危機。「續鹽場」並非抹除過去的重建，而是一場謹慎的空間介入。設計以「續」為核心命題，將基地視為時空連續體，透過現代極簡語彙與輕盈材質，為老舊建築骨架注入當代機能，使其在歷史紋理中獲得新生。
為解決市場幽暗擁擠與動線斷裂的困境，本案提出「聚、流、透、融」四大策略，重新定義新舊對話關係：
聚：透過梳理並退縮部分既有結構，於擁擠平面釋放具呼吸感的都市客廳與微型廣場，引導人群匯聚，提供跨世代交流場域。
流：打破原先僵化的物理邊界，以有機流動序列取代單一廊道，讓穿梭於新舊構造間的體驗，如同昔日鹽田引水般自然蔓延。
透：針對老市場採光不良的痛點，打開沉重屋頂與牆面，植入現代透光材質。光線自然穿透，在斑駁木架上交織光影。
融：新舊兩者並非強烈的對立，而是構築上的和諧共生。極簡幾何量體輕柔疊加於歷史框架上，舊構造化為記憶的基石。
「續鹽場」超越單純空間翻新，以對待都市記憶的溫柔姿態，轉化老市場為延續歷史敘事並向未來書寫的地標。

The Salt Continuum

The Salt Continuum: Adaptive Reuse of Yancheng Market

Located in Kaohsiung, the Yancheng Market carries the city's memory. Evolving from a historic salt site, this aging structure risks obsolescence. "The Salt Continuum" extends its lifespan. Rather than erasing the past, the design injects minimalist spaces into the historical grain via four core operations:

Converge: Open plazas are carved out to gather community vitality.

Flow: Fluid pathways mimic water flowing over salt pans, guiding visitors intuitively.

Penetrate: Translucent materials and structural openings allow daylight to wash over the aged concrete and timber.

Merge: Minimalist geometric insertions harmonize with the weathered historical framework, providing functional modernity.

Ultimately, this intervention preserves the whispers of the historic salt yard, ensuring Kaohsiung’s spatial narrative unfolds beautifully into the future.
