On her birthday morning, the girl wakes up hoping for a special day. However, the absence of her mother is evident. She straightens her mother’s photo and smiles, but a deep sense of longing remains.

As the day progresses, she feels increasingly disconnected from her father. Breakfast is a burnt toast and a broken fried egg, a stark contrast to the delicious pancakes her mother used to make. At school, she opens her lunchbox only to find two convenience store rice balls, making her feel even more unloved.

After school, she returns home to find that her father has accidentally ruined the scarf her mother had knitted for her.
