基地所在區域臨近壽山，依山而建形成獨特的建築景觀。
不同於單純的平面推演，這裡的建築強調垂直變化，展現出堆疊與紋理交錯互動的視覺效果。
當地生活軌跡深受居住族群的臨時性質影響，加之日治時期及清代的工法與建材影響，代代相傳的文化資源至今猶存。由於居住性質的原因在現代發展中出現斷裂，映射出區域發展的停滯困境。
基地緊鄰繁華的鹽埕區，該區域具備豐富的城市觸媒潛力，啟發我們思考基地本身亦可成為城市更新的觸媒，為周邊環境注入新的活力。
儘管現代設施逐步落地，當地仍存在許多未經合法審查的區域，導致違章建築等問題浮現，進而衍生居住正義與城市發展的隱憂。這樣的場域雖生機盎然，卻暗藏著諸多社會議題，極需解決。
目的是遵循原有場域的環境規則，思考如何藉由城市、道路、建築尺度去打破原有的印象，讓尺度重新拉近人事時地物的關係。

ARRIVAL CITY

The site is located near Shoushan, built along the mountain to create a unique architectural landscape.
Unlike purely horizontal development, the architecture here emphasizes vertical variations, showcasing a visual effect of stacking and interwoven textures.

The local lifestyle is deeply influenced by the transient nature of its residents, along with construction techniques and materials passed down from the Japanese colonial period and the Qing dynasty. These cultural resources have been preserved through generations. However, due to the temporary nature of residency, modern development has led to a break in continuity, reflecting the stagnation of regional growth.

Adjacent to the bustling Yancheng District, the area holds immense potential as an urban catalyst, inspiring us to consider how the site itself could contribute to urban renewal and inject new vitality into its surroundings.

Despite the gradual implementation of modern infrastructure, many areas remain unregulated, leading to issues such as illegal constructions and raising concerns about housing justice and urban development. This dynamic environment, though full of life, harbors pressing social challenges that demand urgent solutions.

The goal is to respect the existing environmental framework while rethinking how urban, street, and architectural scales can reshape perceptions, bringing people, time, and place into closer harmony.
