Mirror—⟪trench⟫

在「礦坑開採」這個雕塑設計中,最初想表現的畫面有非常多種元素:爆炸後碎裂的模樣、工人們開採的場景、挖掘或運輸礦物的常用工具等,或是其他更具有環境開採的元素,但是需要的元素太多會導致雕塑太過雜亂沒有重點.而整體的創作構想則較著重在被剝除、挖掘的鏤空廓形。
透過礦坑開採的設計主語「被開採」 、「被掠奪」 ,我們整理出整體風格採用:冰冷的、孤立無援的、受到傷害的意象色彩等,來進行草圖繪製;整體上的輪廓也參考了實體的礦坑、礦道,並用曲折、彎曲的線條以及貌似危險的結構來塑造不穩定感。幽暗的色調、誇張的線條結構、開採痕跡的密集程度,呈現出最終雕塑的各個視角。期望能夠讓觀者快速進入氛圍,並直面礦坑開採所發生的各種社會問題。

Mirror—⟪trench⟫

In the sculpture design of "Pit Mining," the initial concept aimed to incorporate multiple elements to capture the essence of mining. These included the fragmentation caused by explosions, the depiction of workers laboring in the mines, and the presence of tools commonly used for excavation and transportation of minerals. Other symbolic elements were also considered to enrich the narrative. However, incorporating too many details risked making the sculpture overly complex and unfocused. Therefore, the final creative direction shifted toward emphasizing the stripped and excavated hollow silhouette as the central visual theme.
The core concept of the sculpture revolves around the themes of "being mined" and "being plundered." This perspective shaped the overall artistic approach, leading to the use of cold, desolate, and wounded imagery in the sketches. The visual tone conveys a sense of helplessness and depletion, reflecting the environmental and human costs associated with mining. The outline of the sculpture references actual mines and underground tunnels, incorporating twisting and curving lines, as well as precarious, unstable structures. These elements create a sense of tension and danger, emphasizing the fragility of both the landscape and the people affected by mining practices.
The use of dark tones, exaggerated line structures, and the density of mining marks presents the sculpture from multiple perspectives, adding depth and complexity to its interpretation. By integrating these visual components, the artwork aims to evoke an immediate emotional response from viewers, immersing them in the atmosphere of the mining environment. The goal is to provoke reflection on the broader social issues related to mining, such as exploitation, environmental degradation, and the impact on local communities. Through this artistic representation, the sculpture encourages a deeper understanding of the consequences of resource extraction, inviting the audience to confront the realities behind industrial mining practices.
