ESOS-Ecological Education Center

ESOS-Ecological Education Center

Originally transformed from a forest campfire gathering area, this space maintains visitor activities while returning the environment to wildlife. Its exterior resembles two pangolins nestled together, one above and one below ground. The semi-underground, semi-open design allows people to explore the ecosystem freely without disturbing the wildlife.

Through the ecological education center, we can enhance people's understanding and awareness of ecology, inspiring them to take action to protect the environment.

The exterior design is inspired by the pangolin, a protected species that symbolizes protection. The overall shape resembles two pangolins curled up together. The wooden lattice roof represents the body and scales of one pangolin, while the other is partially embedded in the soil, which serves as the primary ecological display area.

The primary space of the Ecological Education Center is the ecological display area, which showcases the damage inflicted by humans on organisms and the local ecosystem. This area is partially embedded in the soil and is organized according to the characteristics of the various organisms. Some sections are illuminated by artificial lights, while others are illuminated by natural skylights. If you are fortunate, you may observe animals passing beneath the skylights, achieving the effect of observing the creatures without interfering.

The secondary space serves as an ecological observation and relaxation area, allowing individuals to unwind while appreciating the surrounding nature. Various observation zones are designed for different viewing experiences. The primary rest area is ideal for observing nearby wildlife, while the elevated observation area offers a vantage point for viewing distant mountains, rivers, and soaring birds
