台南自古因港口興起，水系孕育城市發展，隨著都市擴張與現代化建設，許多原始水系被填埋或改為地下箱涵，城市與水文的聯繫逐漸淡化，生態環境亦受影響。
台南建城400年，人文歷史豐富，但對自然都市紋理的記載相對稀少。隨著開發，水系被路面覆蓋並轉為下水道，昔日風貌已難尋。竹溪作為台南少數仍保有自然風貌的溪流，承載豐富的生態資源與歷史記憶，見證城市水文變遷，是台南重要的自然資產。
本設計選址竹溪旁的廢棄台南射擊場，構築「竹溪故事館」，融合生態保育、文化教育與都市休憩功能。建築採覆土設計、自然採光與綠化策略，以降低環境衝擊，並透過景觀步道串聯竹溪動線與周邊文化場域，使其成為環境復育與社會參與的公共空間。館內規劃地被空間、兩棲昆蟲區、溪語咖啡與苔蘚培育室，多元呈現竹溪的過去、現在與未來，讓居民與訪客參與場域復興。
竹溪故事館不僅見證台南水文變遷，更透過歷史與自然的對話，喚起城市記憶，強化人與環境的關聯，並提升生態保育意識。透過空間設計與敘事手法，使竹溪成為連結過去與未來、融合自然與文化的都市綠洲，為台南的永續發展提供新的設計願景。

The Forgotten River - Whispers from Hagenaars Bosch

Tainan has historically flourished due to its port, with its waterways nurturing urban development. However, as the city expanded and modernized, many of its original water systems were buried or converted into underground culverts, gradually weakening the connection between the city and its hydrology while also impacting the ecological environment.

With 400 years of urban history, Tainan is rich in cultural heritage, yet records of its natural urban fabric remain relatively scarce. Over time, water systems have been paved over and converted into underground drainage, making it difficult to trace their original landscapes. As one of the few streams in Tainan that still retains its natural form, Zhuxi carries valuable ecological resources and historical memories, bearing witness to the city's hydrological transformations and serving as an important natural asset.

This design project is located on the site of the abandoned Tainan Shooting Range, adjacent to Zhuxi, and envisions the creation of the "Zhuxi Story Museum." Integrating ecological conservation, cultural education, and urban recreation, the building adopts an earth-covered design, natural lighting strategies, and green infrastructure to minimize environmental impact. A network of landscaped walkways will connect Zhuxi’s pathways with nearby cultural sites, transforming the space into a public hub for environmental restoration and community engagement.

Inside the museum, designated areas include ground cover exhibits, an amphibian and insect zone, a "Stream Whisper" café, and a moss cultivation room, offering a multidimensional presentation of Zhuxi’s past, present, and future. Visitors and local residents are encouraged to actively participate in the revitalization of this space.

Beyond witnessing Tainan’s hydrological evolution, the Zhuxi Story Museum fosters a dialogue between history and nature, rekindling the city’s memory while strengthening the connection between people and the environment. Through spatial design and narrative techniques, Zhuxi becomes a bridge between past and future, blending nature and culture into an urban oasis—one that offers a new vision for Tainan’s sustainable development.
