此設計位於北輕井澤，是一個自然力量深刻印刻於地景的地方，這裡的火山岩森林由阿薩瑪山的古老熔岩流塑造而成。這片火山岩森林展現出壯麗的景象，岩石尖峭、巨大，彷彿是大地自身所雕刻的藝術品。穿越這片環境，隨著岩石從高聳的巨石到較小、更親密的形態變化，彷彿與這片大自然進行著對話，帶來層次豐富的體驗。
這座森林小屋像是直接從岩石中“誕生”出來的，它不會強行突出，而是自然而然地融入這片原始的場景中。簡單而堅固的幾何形狀反映了周圍環境的崎嶇美感，實現了建築與自然的無縫融合。這座建築是一種大自然延續的表現，是一個活生生、呼吸的結構，放大了這片土地原始的火山精神。在這裡，陽光、植被的色彩和岩石上的陰影隨著時間不斷變化。
小屋的核心是庭院浴池，周圍的空間逐漸向外延伸——從寧靜的天然浴池到適合家庭聚會的公共空間，創造了一種獨特的空間層次感，開放且流暢。庭院浴池被鄰近的溫泉蒸汽籠罩，反射著火光，營造出一種夢幻般的森林景象，為小屋增添了一抹神秘的魅力。向上傾斜的耐候鋼折板屋頂創造出一個漏斗狀的空間，放大了人與森林之間的互動體驗。當你穿行其中，森林的景色不斷變化，彷彿漫遊在一片古老的石林中。

NOT A ROCK HOUSE

"North Karuizawa is a place where nature' s raw power is etched into the landscape, shaped by ancient lava flows from Mount Asama. The volcanic rock forest that unfolds here is a sublime tapestry of jagged stone formations and massive rocks, scattered across the terrain like sculptures born from the earth itself. Moving through this environment offers a layered experience, where the shifting scale of the rocks from towering monoliths to smaller, intimate forms evokes a dialogue between the body and the landscape.
The forest cabin, "borned" directly from the stone, does not impose itself but emerges as a natural extension of this elemental setting Its simple, solid geometry reflects the rugged beauty of its surroundings, creating a seamless integration between built and natural forms. This is architecture as a continuation of nature, a living, breathing structure that amplifies the raw, volcanic spirit of the land. Here, sunlight, the colors of the vegetation, and shadows cast upon the rocks shift continuously with time. The design celebrates the extraordinary beauty of this place, touching the landscape lightly and sensitively, blending harmoniously into its environment.
At the heart of the cabin lies the courtyard bath, around which the cabin gradually transitions outward-from the serene natural bath to a communal space for family gatherings. This creates a unique sense of spatial layering, open and fluid. The courtyard bath, shrouded in mist from the adjacent hot spring, reflects firelight, conjuring an almost dreamlike forest scene that adds a mysterious allure to the cabin.
