The Outdoor Botanical Art Gallery is a boundless, unofficial tourism bureau that integrates art, nature, life, and design, exploring the symbiotic relationship between humans and the environment. We document the textures and forms of plants in a way that does not harm nature, artistically transforming them to reveal a new aesthetic perspective. These imprints from nature are more than just scientific DNA—they serve as a visual language, symbolizing a dialogue between the Earth and humanity. Our discoveries are collected in the Outdoor Botanical Art Gallery journal, inviting travelers to see the world through the eyes of an artist.
We have established a structured branding framework for the Outdoor Botanical Art Gallery, selecting Alishan National Forest Recreation Area as our first destination. Alishan is a prime example of the close connection between Taiwan’s mountain forests and human history. As one of the earliest developed and most well-planned natural areas, it balances both tourism appeal and forest conservation, making it an ideal starting point for our project. In the future, we aim to extend this model to other locations, integrating nature, ecology, and culture to deepen the dialogue between Taiwan’s landscapes and artistic expression.
The Experience Passport is a key medium for this exploration. It includes various collection and creation guides, combining artistic expression with travel. Participants are encouraged to document nature’s beauty through techniques such as rubbings, collages, and sketches. By making creation an integral part of the journey, everyone can become both an artist and a collector in the Outdoor Botanical Art Gallery.
