The marks that abusive and traumatic experiences can leave on a person burn deeply, and affect their choices and actions later in their lives. Some people choose to use these emotions as fuel to motivate them forward, and some perpetuate the cycle of abuse and inflict that trauma upon others.
《Zephyranthes》seeks to explore how the two main characters deal with their past wounds, showcase the effects of trauma on a psychological level, and finding ways to move past and heal from that trauma. The film wishes to promote that, despite the past being set in stone, we have the choice to not be bound by our negative experiences and the harm done to us, and move forward with our lives. And highlight the importance of using communication and understanding as a way to resolve conflict.
This work integrates the UNSDGs, most notably SDG4 and 16 (Quality Education and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions)。Through this film, we hope to reinforce the importance of education and understanding in a person’s development, And to promote dialogue and compassion.
