南島帆船與台灣有著深厚的歷史淵源。幾年前的研究發現，移居各島的祖先曾使用南島帆船進行遷徙。然而，隨著時代變遷，南島文化與傳統舟船的形貌逐漸模糊，許多人對其航行方式與使用方法已不甚了解。南島帆船無疑是台灣文化中極為重要且不容遺忘的一部分。國際社會十分重視這類文化傳承，也期望台灣能妥善保存這項珍貴的文化資產，不讓其逐漸沒落或消失。

自古至今，南島帆船使各國透過海洋相互連結。無論時代如何演變，這種信念始終未曾改變。然而，在台灣社會中，南島帆船文化逐漸式微，許多人不再熟悉其結構與使用方式。

因此，本研究旨在透過教案設計，向國小三年級學童介紹南島帆船。透過DIY實作與教材書籍的結合，幫助孩童學習帆船的組裝與操作方式。同時，書籍內容也將融入南島帆船文化，使孩童更深入理解其歷史背景，並啟發他們對南島帆船及其文化的興趣。

Austronesian Sailing Canoe Educational Material Design

The Austronesian sailing canoe has a deep historical connection with Taiwan. Research conducted a few years ago discovered that the ancestors of island migrants used Austronesian sailing canoes for migration. However, as time has passed, the forms of Austronesian culture and traditional boats have gradually faded, and many people are no longer familiar with their navigation methods and usage. Undoubtedly, the Austronesian sailing canoe is an essential and irreplaceable part of Taiwan’s cultural heritage. The international community highly values such cultural traditions and hopes that Taiwan will preserve this precious heritage rather than allow it to decline or disappear.

From ancient times to the present, Austronesian sailing canoes have connected different countries through maritime travel. Regardless of how history has evolved, this belief has remained unchanged. However, in Taiwanese society, knowledge of Austronesian sailing canoe culture has gradually diminished, and many people are unfamiliar with the structure and use of these boats.

Therefore, this study aims to introduce third-grade elementary school students to Austronesian sailing canoes through a structured teaching plan. By incorporating hands-on DIY activities and educational books, children will learn how these boats are assembled and operated. Additionally, the books will include Austronesian sailing canoe culture to help students gain a deeper understanding of its historical background and inspire their interest in Austronesian canoes and culture.
