a brand-new formPULP PULP GO: Giving Waste Paper a New Life and Exploring a Sustainable Future Through Creativity
In an era of growing environmental awareness, this project is built on the core concepts of “PULP” (reshaping), “PULP” (symbolizing the regeneration of paper pulp resources), and “GO” (exploring the unknown). Through creative hands-on activities with paper pulp, the project inspires children to learn about environmental protection and cultivate a mindset of sustainable innovation.
Design Inspiration: Recognizing the Value of Resource Regeneration Through Paper Recycling
Taiwan's paper recycling rate has reached 53.6%, yet the process still faces challenges such as imprecise sorting and inconsistent quality. To help the next generation understand the value of paper pulp recycling, this project adopts the concept of an "Island Map" and transforms the paper-making process into an engaging board game. Through gameplay, children can explore the entire ecological chain—from forest resources to eco-friendly pulp mills and consumers.
Design Concept: Hands-On Paper Pulp Creations Leading Children on a Journey to Sustainability
PULP PULP GO is designed for 4th to 6th-grade students, incorporating a Q&A-based system where players earn resource tokens. As they engage in the paper pulp production and resource transformation process, they gain knowledge about environmental protection and sustainable development.
The educational kit primarily uses medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and recycled paper pulp sourced from office paper (OOP) and textbooks. By combining the textures of both paper pulp and wood, children can experience the transformation of waste paper into new life firsthand.
Creative Presentation: A Multi-Sensory Learning Experience Through Visual and Tactile Interaction
The packaging design is inspired by the concept of a book, symbolizing how recycled paper returns to children in . Through touch, sight, and interactive gameplay, the multi-sensory experience not only enhances learning engagement but also deepens children's understanding of paper pulp recycling and sustainability.
