本作品以貓籠、燈具、花盆為出發點，諷刺人們在追逐名利過程中的種種荒謬。紫色康乃馨在美、英、法的花語代表「多變、任性、異變、無常」，正如時代審美標準的變化莫測。我們生來擁有如天使翅膀般的自由，卻為了迎合社會定義的美而甘願放棄，將自己禁錮於名牌、寶石、花朵等虛榮的象徵之中，卻從未真正擁抱內在的本質。

作品中的花朵象徵虛榮，即使被枷鎖束縛，也要極力展現自身的華麗。中央的寶石被金色鎖鏈層層纏繞，外層則套上兩枚戒指，象徵即便受金錢的枷鎖束縛，人們仍試圖以名牌珠寶掩飾囚禁，彷彿只要鍍上金光，束縛也能被視為榮耀。他們用一生追逐終究無法帶走的「石頭」，甚至將其珍藏於牢籠之中，從不真正使用，只為擁有而擁有。

貓，作為獨立且難以馴服的象徵，卻站在籠外，冷眼旁觀人類這場無盡的競逐。耳釘的造型則表現出，為了將這些虛榮之物戴在身上，人們需要付出多少努力與犧牲。尾端的拉扯設計象徵人們為了承載更多的華麗，甘願在身上留下更深的耳洞與創傷。

最終，這些所謂的美終將隨時代更迭而被取代，徒留人們為了短暫的光芒而自我囚禁的痕跡——多變的設計，無常的人生。

The Chains of Vanity(Les chaînes de la vanité_)

This work, inspired by a cat cage, lamp, and flowerpot, satirizes the absurdity of pursuing fame and fortune. The purple carnation symbolizes "change, capriciousness, mutation, and impermanence" in American, British, and French flower language, reflecting the unpredictable shifts in beauty standards over time. We are born with the freedom of angelic wings, yet we willingly abandon it to conform to society’s definition of beauty. Instead of embracing our true selves, we bind our nature to luxury brands, gemstones, and flowers—symbols of vanity.

The flowers in this piece represent vanity. Even when restrained by chains, they strive to display their beauty, just as people, even when shackled, go to great lengths to present a glamorous facade. At the center, a gemstone is tightly wrapped in golden chains, with two rings encircling the outside. This signifies that even when bound by the shackles of wealth, people attempt to disguise their captivity with luxurious jewelry, as if coating their chains in gold could turn imprisonment into prestige. They spend their lives chasing possessions they cannot take with them, preserving them in cages rather than truly using or enjoying them.

The cat, often seen as a symbol of independence and untamed nature, stands outside the cage, watching humanity’s endless pursuit of vanity. The earrings highlight the sacrifices required to wear these emblems of luxury. Their design, with a stretched and pulled end, signifies the pain and deep wounds inflicted in the name of beauty and status.

In the end, beauty itself is fleeting, constantly reshaped by time. What was once admired will inevitably be replaced, leaving behind only the traces of those who imprisoned themselves for temporary brilliance—ever-changing designs, an impermanent life.
