In the futuristic world of 2084, the totalitarian regime depicted in 1984 has been overthrown, and humanity has embraced an entirely new way of life. However, the worsening effects of global warming have caused sea levels to rise dramatically, significantly reducing the available landmass. As a result, people have been forced to adapt to this new environment, gradually transitioning to life on the sea.

Due to the lingering shadow of past authoritarian rule, the architecture and lifestyle on the floating islands deliberately avoid any symbols of power. There are no towering government buildings, nor are there strictly divided residential and administrative zones. Instead, open and free spaces define the urban landscape. People can move freely between different areas to live, work, and interact. The boundaries between buildings are intentionally blurred, seamlessly integrating natural elements such as floating green spaces, open water zones, and semi-transparent domes that allow sunlight and ocean breezes to flow unhindered.

In this liberated maritime metropolis, community self-governance has become the dominant system, eliminating the possibility of centralized control. Economic activities rely primarily on shared resources and renewable energy, with offshore wind power, tidal energy, and solar energy sustaining the city’s operations.
