Blue Vein is a sculptural series exploring the relationship between water and rock, presenting the interplay and pulse of natural forces through contrasting textures and fluid forms. Water and rock may seem like opposites—one flowing and soft, the other solid and still—yet through their long-term interaction, they shape unique landscapes and textures. This series seeks to capture the moment of their fusion, using the language of sculpture to convey the rhythm of water and the stability of stone, achieving a harmonious balance between motion and stillness.
The irregular, undulating forms in the sculptures mimic the dynamic movement of water, while the dark base represents the weight and solidity of rock. The embedded blue glass crystal symbolizes the core essence of water, resembling veins of minerals within the earth or the shimmering surface of a flowing stream. This interplay not only visualizes the entwined relationship between water and stone but also highlights the passage of time and the transformative power of nature.
Beyond its representation of natural forms, this work serves as a metaphor for life itself. Water has the power to erode stone, while stone guides the flow of water—their interaction reflects the dialogue between softness and strength, much like the coexistence of conflict and reconciliation, change and stability in human experiences. Blue Vein invites viewers to contemplate and connect with the intrinsic rhythm and energy of nature.
