根據聯合國世界衛生組織(WHO)2021年聽力報告,全球聽損兒人數高達3,400萬。若未及時介入,將對其認知發展與心理層面產生負面影響。我們發現,雖然各相關研究機構提供了許多訓練方法,但市面上仍缺乏專為聽損兒設計的教具。

2至4歲是兒童的黃金治療與學習階段。因此,我們針對該階段的聽損兒,依據幼兒語言理解四階段(察覺、分辨、辨識、理解),並搭配雅文基金會研發的「雅文檢測音」,設計出一款能讓家長與聽檢師提供具有更豐富互動的聽語復健教具。

值得注意的是,研究顯示,聽損兒在前庭覺與記憶廣度的能力顯著低於健康兒童。因此,本產品除了基礎訓練外,亦整合前庭覺、聽覺記憶與空間互動。此外,我們也融入學齡前兒童應學習的基本知識,如顏色、數數及常見形容詞等,幫助他們順利銜接國小課程,更快融入同儕生活。我們的目標是讓這些孩子在自由探索世界的年紀,不必比健康兒童額外犧牲時間「坐下學習」,實現「公平教育」並促進「減少不平等」的永續發展目標。

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) Hearing Report (2021), an estimated 34 million children worldwide have hearing loss. Without proper intervention, this can affect their cognitive development, emotional well-being, and ability to interact with others. Despite the availability of various training methods from research institutions, there is still a lack of educational tools designed specifically for children with hearing loss.

Ages 2 to 4 are a critical period for language learning and hearing rehabilitation. To support children during this stage, we developed an interactive auditory training tool based on the four stages of language comprehension—detection, discrimination, identification, and comprehension. This system also incorporates the Audiometric Test Sounds from the Children’s Hearing Foundation, providing parents and audiologists with a structured and engaging way to train children’s listening skills.

Studies have shown that children with hearing loss often experience challenges with vestibular function and Memory Span, affecting their balance, coordination, and ability to process sounds efficiently. To address these issues, our product integrates vestibular activities, Echoic Memory training, and spatial interaction, alongside basic auditory training. By combining these elements, we aim to create a comprehensive learning experience that supports both hearing development and overall cognitive growth.

In addition to hearing-related exercises, we have included fundamental preschool learning content, such as colors, numbers, and commonly used adjectives. This ensures that children with hearing loss can seamlessly transition into primary school education, keeping pace with their peers. Instead of requiring extra time for structured learning, they can acquire knowledge naturally through play and interaction, making education more accessible and enjoyable.

By combining hearing training, cognitive development, and interactive learning, this tool aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Quality Education and Reduced Inequalities. Our goal is to provide children with hearing loss with equal opportunities to explore, learn, and grow, ensuring that they can thrive in both academic and social settings.
