本次設計以 「武脈之驛」作為道路休息站的主題名稱。北大武山給予屏東這塊土地與人民極具重要的涵養，不僅是自然景觀的重要組成部分，也是當地文化、經濟及社會生活的重要推手 因此期望將北大武山的意象帶入到設計當中。「武脈」 是大武山的地理特徵更強調當地與自然景觀的連結；「脈」暗示了源源僅絕的生命力與流動性，聯想路途中的連結與通流。除了增強道路休息站的品牌意象 也激發了對於在地歷史、人文、地理的想像與思考，塑造更有趣更獨特的形象。然而在長治這片土地上是一個富有多元族群的地方：原住民、客家人、閩南人、新住民，因此在本次設計上我們希望能夠透過文化元素的結合，打造出一個與當地文化、自然、環境相互融合的建築作品，所以在立面上我們的建材除了玻璃帷幕之外還選用了排灣族的傳統建材--石板，這不僅是對當地原住民文化的致敬，更是希望他能與當地自然環境和諧共存。我們希望以建築作為媒介，希望能夠串聯長治鄉的自然與人文，讓這片土地也能更加活化，更有不一樣的生命力。

Wu Mai Roadside Station – Pingtung Mountain Route Rest Stop & Local Industry Revitalization Hub

The design for this project is centered around the theme of "Wu Mai Zhi Yi", a roadside rest stop. Beidawu Mountain holds immense significance for Pingtung, enriching the land and its people. It is not only a crucial natural landmark but also a driving force behind the region's culture, economy, and social life. Therefore, we aim to incorporate the imagery of Beidawu Mountain into our design.
"Wu Mai" highlights the geographical characteristics of Beidawu Mountain, emphasizing its connection to the local natural landscape. The word "Mai" (meaning “vein” or “pulse”) symbolizes continuous vitality and fluidity, evoking the idea of connection and movement along the journey. This concept enhances the branding of the rest stop while also inspiring imagination and reflection on the area's history, culture, and geography, shaping a more engaging and distinctive identity.
Furthermore, Changzhi Township is a land of diverse ethnic groups, including Indigenous peoples, Hakka, Minnan, and new immigrants. To reflect this cultural diversity, our design integrates various cultural elements, creating an architectural work that harmonizes with the local culture, nature, and environment. For the building’s façade, in addition to glass curtain walls, we have selected **slate**, a traditional building material of the Paiwan people. This choice not only pays tribute to the indigenous culture but also ensures that the structure coexists harmoniously with its natural surroundings.
Through architecture, we aspire to connect the natural and cultural landscapes of Changzhi Township, breathing new life into the land and fostering a revitalized and dynamic environment.
