Azure/WAY Ray Reflection

由於高雄市政府推動亞洲新灣區計畫,另整個高雄港邊形成了一條新的觀光鏈,而在駁二與海洋流行音樂中心之間,想要產生新的連結,勢必創造新舊融合的新生機,以拉進兩者之間的關係,並且與整個高雄港邊產生串聯,並延續整個港邊區塊的綠化。而針對與港邊區塊產生連結的部分,我們以整體的外型,延續海洋生物,作為建築意象的參考,如將鯨魚作為仿生對象的旅運中心、以珊瑚作為仿生對象的海洋流行音樂中心,而我們的基地則選擇作為底棲生物的魟魚作為整體形象的參考,魟魚象徵著自由,並且以圍繞在形似珊瑚的海洋型音樂中心周圍的魟魚形象,作為意象的描繪,連接已相當完善的觀光整合區塊對於新型態港阜的形象期望。另一方面,我們延續周邊的綠化區塊,以綠帶的形式引入我們的基地,並且設計大面積的綠化,減少將公園綠地改建成商業型態混合建築對於環境的迫害,並以永續建築為目的,降低對周邊生態的改變,盡力維持原有環境。

Azure/WAY Ray Reflection

Due to Kaohsiung City's initiative to promote the Asia New Bay Area project, a new tourism chain has been formed along the Kaohsiung Port. To create a stronger connection between Pier-2 and the Kaohsiung Maritime Cultural and Pop Music Center, a fusion of old and new vitality must be developed. This aims to bridge the relationship between the two while integrating with the entire waterfront area and continuing the greenery along Kaohsiung Port.

For the portion connecting to the waterfront, the overall architectural design draws inspiration from marine life. For instance, the whale serves as the biomimetic design for the transportation center, and coral is used as the biomimetic reference for the Maritime Cultural and Pop Music Center. For our site, we take inspiration from the ray, a benthic creature, as the primary concept for the overall image. The ray symbolizes freedom, depicted as circling the coral-shaped Maritime Pop Music Center, embodying the imagery of connection. This creates a visual link between the well-established tourism integration zones, aligning with the anticipated image of a new-style harbor.

Furthermore, we extend the surrounding green spaces by introducing green belts into our site and implementing large-scale greenery in the design. This aims to reduce the environmental impact of converting parkland into mixed-use commercial buildings. With a focus on sustainable architecture, we strive to minimize ecological disruption and preserve the original environment as much as possible.
