根據Kevin Lynch《城市的意象》一書,透過通道、邊緣、區域、節點、地標,來觀察我國第二大行政區-台中市。
台中都市發展,以台灣大道此「通道」為發展線,逐漸由東往西擴張。由東往西駛,便可一窺台中市隨著時代的變遷,政商發展重點區域的轉移,逐漸沒落的中區對比嶄新的西屯區,彷彿看見城市的年輪。
在如今西屯區之重要節點—惠中路與台灣大道交叉口上,我們可以觀察到台灣大道南北側一些失衡現象造成的邊緣化現象:
行為活動與步調的差異、建物高度與屋齡的對比,以及在地人與外來人多寡差異性。
我們分析此區域使用者與生活機能,並欲運用此地,作為兼容南北兩端與外來的使用者共同使用的場所,使其有共處、交流的機會與生活場景,欲模糊化差異性的邊界。
我們觀察出此區域的缺乏,賦予基地周遭缺少的機能。
在漫灰的城市裡,運用垂直農耕,使用自助式採集的方式,經營飲食商業空間—沙拉咖啡廳與火鍋店。
並且設立得來速,使「通道」增加更多可能性,欲滿足此區域自駕民眾的快步調飲食需求。
並且在三樓設置有機蔬果市場,供應附近居民。
垂直農耕與自助式採集,除了能減少大量碳足跡外,也是一種在都市裡大自然的看見與教育,除了滿足飲食需求外,也有寓教於樂、回歸自然的意義價值存在。
According to Kevin Lynch's book "Imagery of the City", the city of Taichung, the second largest administrative district in our country, is viewed through passages, edges, regions, nodes, and landmarks.
Taichung's urban development has taken the "corridor" of Taiwan Avenue as its development line, gradually expanding from east to west. Driving from the east to the west, you can see how Taichung City has changed over time, and how the key areas of political and business development have shifted, with the gradually declining Central District compared to the brand new Xitun District.
At the intersection of Huizhong Road and Taiwan Avenue, an important node in Xitun, we can observe the marginalization caused by some imbalances on the north and south sides of Taiwan Avenue.
The difference in behavior and pace, the contrast between the height and age of the buildings, and the difference in the number of locals and foreigners.
We analyze the users and living functions of this area and want to use this area as a place that is compatible with the common use of the north and south sides and foreign users, so that they can have opportunities for coexistence, communication and living scenes, and want to blur the boundaries of difference.
We observe the lack of this area and give it a function that is missing in the surrounding area.
In the grey city, we use vertical farming and self-collection to operate food and commercial spaces - salad cafes and hot pot restaurants.
Also, the establishment of Delightful Speed adds more possibilities of "access" to meet the demand of fast-paced food and drink for the people driving in the area.
An organic fruit and vegetable market is also located on the third floor for the neighborhood.
Vertical farming and self-help harvesting can not only reduce a large amount of carbon footprint, but also serve as a way to see and educate the nature in the city, which not only satisfies the dietary needs, but also has the meaningful value of teaching and returning to nature.
