聚落以及文明中流傳著各式各樣的傳說，擁有傳說的地方會使人對於想前進探索亦或是不敢靠近，因此保存了聚落的生態以及環境。
例如：空間『場域』的廟宇、墓地、神社，或『環境』的山坡、樹林、河流。傳說的神祕感不經使我想去探討『聚落』與『場域』，『人』跟『環境
』將如何遺存，作為此次設計的出發點。文明的起源始於江河流域，主要為聚落的出現、文字的產生制度的建立為最初的基礎，其中最重要的是聚落的出現，也就是人群的聚集，聚落乃是一個文明的建立最初的標誌。

因此使我對文明的起點開始進行調查，我選擇了與河域相關的台灣溪流進行這次設計基地的踏尋，最後我在水里溪上游位置發現了在一個大型壩頂下方的一個村落「車埕」，位於水里溪旁，其當地聚落以及環境是個非常符合我想探討聚落及場域，於是我選擇車埕將作為我本次設計的基地選址。

該基地所發現的問題
因人口外移嚴重，聚落內的住宅遭到遺棄，此外因聚落的腹地高地落差較大，基地空間整體上呈現破碎不完整的狀況。基地內的住商分區相對複雜，導致人潮眾多時，時常有擁擠的現象發生。聚落的沒落，導致罐頭式的觀光商業置入，使當地形成鮮明的新舊對比，無實質的文化存。

設計的解決方式
解決方案
觀光空間轉移：因聚落的寧靜純普是當地的一大特色，將部分觀光產業進行轉移，並保留原聚落內的商業行為，將文化與經濟層面的問題降至最低。
規劃住商分區：整合聚落的居住與商業行為，優先將原聚落的文化保存，規劃住商分區為重要的議題。
破碎空間重整：找出聚落空間中破碎與遭到遺棄的空間進行，細微的變化進行轉化，決定要將其保留、介入或代謝。

There are various legends circulating in settlements and civilizations. Places with legends will make people dare not approach if they want to explore further, so the ecology and environment of the settlement are preserved.
For example: temples, cemeteries, and shrines in the spatial "field", or hillsides, forests, and rivers in the "environment". The mystique of the legend made me want to explore "settlement" and "field", "people" and "environment"
How to preserve it will be the starting point of this design. The origin of civilization began in the river basins, mainly based on the emergence of settlements and the establishment of the production system of characters. The most important thing is the emergence of settlements, that is, the gathering of people. Settlements are a kind of The first sign of the establishment of a civilization.

Therefore, I began to investigate the starting point of civilization. I chose Taiwan's streams related to the river basin to search for the design base. Finally, I found a village under a large dam crest in the upper reaches of Shuili River. Cheng” is located beside the Shuili River. Its local settlement and environment are very suitable for the settlement and field I want to explore, so I choose Checheng as the base for my design.

Problems found at the base
Due to the serious migration of the population, the residences in the settlement were abandoned. In addition, due to the large drop in the hinterland of the settlement, the space of the base was broken and incomplete as a whole. The residential and commercial zoning in the base is relatively complex, resulting in frequent congestion when there are many people. The decline of the settlement led to the placement of canned tourism and business, which formed a sharp contrast between the old and the new in the local area, and there was no real cultural existence.

Sightseeing space transfer: Since the tranquility of the settlement is a major feature of the local area, part of the tourism industry will be transferred, and the commercial activities in the original settlement will be retained to minimize cultural and economic problems.
Planning residential and commercial zoning: Integrating the residential and commercial activities of the settlement, giving priority to preserving the culture of the original settlement, planning residential and commercial zoning is an important issue.
